5.1 Evolution of global temperature

The global-mean temperature $T(t)$ is calculated by assuming that it is relaxed towards the global-mean temperature at radiative equilibrium, $T_{eq}$, with a time constant $tau_{T}=30$ years:

\begin{displaymath}
T(t)=T(t-dt)+(T_{eq}(t)-T(t-dt)){(1-e}^{^{-dt/tau_{T}}})
\end{displaymath}

Temperature $T_{eq}(t)$ is calculated in section 2.3.3.
